UPDATE: The Coronado PD moved the date to May 22. I just confirmed with the coordinator that everyone who had RSVPed with them for May 15 is still registered for the 22nd. You MAY want to confirm with them though, given that they didn’t communicate anything about the date change.

Please read the entire event description if you are interested in this event.

This is the course I mentioned a month ago. It's similar (identical?) to the one I took in Hawthorne in July and is an incredible class. I learned a lot in Hawthorne and will be taking it again here.

Here's the description from their website:

"The Ride to Live motorcycle training program is a free class presented by the Coronado Police Department. The program’s goal is to provide motorcycle operators with the skills to avoid or minimize collisions while enjoying their ride. Additionally, riders will be educated on some of the common equipment and riding violations encountered within the City of Coronado. The course, taught by certified motor officers, focuses on the same riding techniques used by police motor officers every day. The class is 7 hours of “hands-on” motorcycle training, presented in one day, with lunch provided. If you have a desire to challenge your riding skills and increase your safety on the road, please read further to learn about registering for our course."

RSVP'ing for this event does NOT sign you up for this FREE course.

You must go to their website and register. https://www.coronado.ca.us/government/departments_divisions/police_services/ridetolive

Please do RSVP here anyway so that we can all ID each other there and maybe stick together.

The start and end times are placeholders, as I don't have the info yet.

The class size is limited to 24 riders, and spots are filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. As of today, 9/11, the officer in charge indicates that the May class is wide open, and the Feb one is about 1/2 full.

After the class, I'm thinking of heading to a nearby restaurant for dinner.
