**PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE JOINING THIS EVENT.**
**For adult women only, no children; participants must be a member and each member must RSVP for themselves; sorry, no plus’s/guests that are not members (due to a meetup glitch that causes a problem). Furkids are welcome but fur parents must be able to maintain full control at all times and must follow all pet ordinances and rules of etiquette. We will not wait more than 5 minutes so please don’t be late.**

This is a well paved fairly wide scenic trail with a few inclines which will make it a decent workout even at our typical pace of 2.5 mph. It is just under 3 miles but we can include the fitness loop for an additional 0.6 miles.

\*With regard to parking: the event photo shows the correct parking lot as viewed from Cameron Blvd.
If you are coming from Duke Hospital or Hwy 85 onto Cameron Road, go STRAIGHT through the light directly in front of the entrance to the Duke Washington Inn (which will be on your right); then the large paved parking lot will be shortly after the light, also on your RIGHT hand side. (You can use the address for the Duke Washington Inn for reference if you want but I cannot suggest parking there though some people do.

If there is a parking attendant at the entrance, just tell them you are there for the Duke game.

It has become an important part of this hike to meetup afterwards to enjoy a cocktail, snack and conversation. In keeping with the Cinco De Mayo theme, we will head to nearby Bright Leaf Square after the hike and explore amongst the following options: (good parking for one )
Fonda Lupita - new Mexican restaurant with good reviews; unfortunately, no outdoor seating though:

Both offer veg/VF options - I would likely lean towards the outdoor seating option due to pets but the group can vote

**GENERAL GUIDELINES:**
**Our standard pace is usually about 2.5 mph so as to be able to enjoy conversations, nature, and to let doggies do what doggies do. Please be mindful, welcoming and inclusive to new/first time participants because you may possibly be in front of me and I may be more at the back as the sweep. If you are ahead, please stop intermittently to wait for the rest of the group to catch up so we stay somewhat together. If you want to speed or power hike, or ditch the rest of us and go on your own, please feel free to do so without signing up as part of this group event. If you do not like/are not comfortable around dogs, my meetups are not likely a good fit for you.**
**Unless otherwise stated, my outdoor hikes will be canceled for temps or wind chill under 40 degrees; steady rain, or any lightning or thunder.**
**If you are on the waitlist and or if your plans change please update your RSVP ASAP. If you cancel by way of message or comment you will be marked as a no show because it will not be seen in time which means we will be waiting for you and wondering if you are ok. This group, like many others, has a "3 strike" rule which will be more strongly enforced due to the increasing number of no shows. We DON'T want that to happen!! It is quick and a simple courtesy to update your RSVP the appropriate way and in a reasonable time frame (NOT the hour or 30 min prior to the start of the event).**
