Mindfulness Hike at Buck Gully Reserve, Corona Del Mar (Free Community Event)
Details
ABOUT THE MINDFULNESS HIKE:
Be inspired by the natural beauty of Newport Beach’s Buck Gully Reserve, as we explore this protected area and enjoy the trail through this coastal watershed. Buck Gully is a natural coastal canyon that opened to the public in 2012 with the installation of four bridges to provide safe public access. The bridges and frequently placed benches provide tranquil locations to pause for mindfulness practices and observe the abundant life in and around the stream that runs through the gully year-round.
We start with a short walk from the parking lot across from Oasis Senior Center to the beginning of the Buck Gully trail, with a visually dramatic entrance and descent into this special canyon. After walking down this steepest area of the trail, the trail continues gradually uphill to our turn around point. This hike is an easy out and back totaling under 5 miles.
This is an immersion in nature hike, with mindfulness practices along the way. Rachel is the Trail Guide and California Native Plant expert. Treeesa is the Mindfulness and Somatic Coach and leads the mindfulness practices. We don't pay attention to the time rather we loose track of time. It is best to not book anything right after so you can thoroughly enjoy this mind, body, soul adventure.
WHERE TO MEET:
· In the parking lot, across from Oasis Senior Center in Corona Del Mar.
· Address: 801 Marguerite Avenue, Corona Del Mar, 92625 and the cross streets are Marguerite Avenue and Fifth Avenue.
