About us
Welcome! If you’ve recently found yourself on the wrong side of a corporate restructuring or layoff, you already know the weirdest part isn't just losing the job—it's the sudden loss of your daily routine and weekday social interaction.
First things first: This is NOT a traditional networking group.
We aren't here to wear stiff clothes, practice elevator pitches, or swap resumes over overpriced happy hour drinks. There are plenty of other groups for that. This is a low-pressure community designed simply to get us out of the house, moving, and connecting with people who actually understand the transition.
What We Do:
We take advantage of our newly freed-up weekday schedules. Since navigating unemployment usually means keeping an eye on the budget, our events are strictly low-to-no cost. We focus on fresh air, staying active, and good conversation rather than eating out or hitting bars. Eating out isn’t off the list completely, but not the main scene.
• Local Eastside Walks: Easy, conversational afternoon loops around places like Crossroads Park, the Bellevue Botanical Garden, or the Mercer Slough boardwalks. Perfect for clearing your head after a morning workout or just getting some steps in.
• Light Rail Excursions: Occasional low-lift field trips, like hopping on the new 2 Line across the bridge to walk the Seattle waterfront or Pioneer Square, paying only the transit fare.
• Casual Hangouts: Finding a spot to grab a simple coffee, enjoy the spring weather, and vent, brainstorm, or talk about literally anything other than the job hunt.
Who Should Join:
Professionals (roughly ages 20 to 60) in Bellevue, the broader Eastside, and Seattle who are currently laid off, on a career break, or navigating unemployment. Whether your background is in corporate tech, management, or anything in between—if you want a reason to put on real shoes on a Tuesday afternoon and find some solidarity, you are in the right place.
Losing a job is isolating, but your weekdays don't have to be. Come join us!
