What we’re about
Lake Ridge Park Paddlers is a beginner-friendly and renter-friendly paddling group. We paddle stand up paddleboards (SUPS), kayaks, and canoes mainly out of Lake Ridge Park and Marina in Woodbridge, Virginia. Lake Ridge Park and Marina is a Prince William County park that is located on the Occoquan Reservoir. Most of our Meetups are appropriate for beginners. Some of our events are more challenging, but we always indicate this on the Meetup description. Our typical meetup event launches out of Lake Ridge Park and Marina and is usually 4 or 5 miles long. Often we go out to lunch or dinner together after a paddle. We also sponsor extended paddling trips in Florida and the Bahamas during the winter.
Stand up paddleboards (SUPS), kayaks, and canoes can all be rented at the park at a very low price. The rental season starts in April and ends after Columbus Day weekend in October. Our meetups mostly occur on weekends, but we also meet some weekdays. Some of us, who have the proper equipment, even paddle year-round.
Our group is PRIVATE, so that people outside of our group cannot access your profile information. If you are interested in the group but want more information, I encourage you to join the group and check out the content. If this group is not for you after looking at our meetup events, simply leave the group. Since there is no cost, this is easy.
If you don't want email notifications, go to "Email Settings," which is located at the top of your profile, and choose what you desire. For some of my groups I want all the notifications. For others, I want none and I check the group web site if I want to see what they are doing.
