Welcome to the Lakeland Chess Meetup Group! Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned player, this group is for those with an interest in social chess, chess education, and learning to play chess. Join us to improve your skills, meet fellow chess enthusiasts, and enjoy friendly matches in a relaxed and informal setting.
We meet at Intergalactic Plastic, 5367 Florida Ave S, Lakeland FL. There is no fee or membership dues. We meet bi-weekly on Thursday nights. Like the description above, it’s a very laid back chess group. You don’t have to bring a clock or know chess notation. If you do want use a clock, great! Same for notation. Even if you want to come and just come and just learn the basics, all are welcome. There will be chess boards available for you to use, so no need to bring one! I post up the next Meetup date on the following Monday so you can accordingly.
