Lancaster – Ancient Astrology in Practice and Theory

This group is for anyone curious about older forms of astrology and how they can be used as a serious, grounded way of understanding life—not just as pop horoscopes. We focus on ancient and traditional techniques (Hellenistic, Medieval, Renaissance) and explore how they can help with orientation, decision-making, and personal stewardship in everyday situations.
We look at how ancient astrology can inform a personal practice—a way of attending to the sky and your own chart that shapes what you actually do. Together we explore how astrology ties into personalized rituals and an ecology of practices that help us work with our own charts and with the chart of the moment—turning symbolism into lived rhythm rather than abstract ideas.
Our meetups mix teaching and hands-on chart work. You'll learn about planets, signs, houses, sect, dignity, aspects, and lots, and then see how these pieces come together in real charts and in ancient frameworks of practice. We read charts for structure and patterns that inform function and general conditions, rather than concrete predictions, and we always ask: "Given this configuration, what kinds of practices, adjustments, or supports actually help?"
This is a practice-forward group. Every insight is treated as something that should lead to adaptive action — repairing what's struggling, cultivating a capacity, refining what already works, maintaining what's worth protecting, deliberately using a strength, counterbalancing something excessive, honestly accepting a real limit, or referring outward to another kind of expertise — rather than vague fate language or feel-good generalities. We keep a clear boundary around scope: we don't offer therapy, medical advice, or religious authority; instead, we use ancient symbolic tools to support thoughtful, honest, and proportionate reflection.
Whether you're brand-new or already reading charts, you're welcome. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and take part in a respectful space where difficulty is named clearly, hope is kept realistic, and the chart is used as a map of what matters — not as a prediction.

How the group runs.
Study cycles meet online every other week and run as closed groups — once a cycle starts, it isn't joinable mid-way, because the sessions build on each other and on the practice in between. Joining this group is free, and it's how you'll hear when the next cycle opens or when a one-off workshop is scheduled. The next announcement is due in November.
