A sociable autumn walking weekend exploring the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, with two relaxed days of walking around Blenheim and Burford.

WHAT WE’LL BE DOING
On Saturday we’ll walk around nine miles through the countryside and parkland surrounding the Blenheim Estate, including a visit to the remains of North Leigh Roman Villa.

On Sunday we head to Burford for a shorter walk through the surrounding Cotswolds countryside, finishing with time for a pub lunch before heading home.
This is a relaxed, sociable walking break rather than a visit to Blenheim Palace itself – admission to the Palace and formal gardens isn’t included.

COMING ON YOUR OWN?
Most people who travel with Large Outdoors come on their own, so you certainly won’t be the only person arriving without knowing anyone. We keep our groups small and the weekend is designed to be sociable from the start.

WHAT WE’LL BE DOING
We’ll have three days of guided walking, with routes of around 6–10 miles each day.
Our plans include Symonds Yat and the River Wye, the countryside around Ross-on-Wye, and a final day around Tintern Abbey and the Devil’s Pulpit.
The routes mix riverside paths, woodland and steady climbs, with plenty of time built in for a brew, lunch or a wander around the towns we visit.

Most people who travel with Large Outdoors come on their own, so you certainly won’t be the only person arriving without knowing anyone.
With a maximum of just eight people, the trip is designed to be relaxed and sociable, from meeting for dinner on the first evening through to our final walk.

CAR-FREE OPTION
You don’t need a car for this trip. We offer a free collection from Chepstow railway station on Monday and return you there after the final walk on Thursday.

WHAT WE’LL BE DOING
Saturday is our main walking day, covering around 10 miles through the UNESCO-listed Avebury landscape.
Along the way we’ll explore some of the area’s best-known prehistoric sites, including Silbury Hill, West Kennet Long Barrow, The Sanctuary and part of the Ridgeway, before finishing back at Avebury Stone Circle.
On Sunday we’ll head into the North Wessex Downs for a shorter walk of around six miles, taking in Chisbury, the Kennet & Avon Canal, Crofton Beam Engines and Wilton Windmill.

Most people who travel with Large Outdoors come on their own, so you certainly won’t be the only person arriving without knowing anyone.
With a maximum of eight people, it’s a small, sociable group and we’ll also head out for dinner together in Marlborough each evening.

CAR-FREE OPTION
You don’t need a car for this trip. We offer a free collection from Hungerford railway station on Friday and transport throughout the weekend.

WHAT WE’LL BE DOING
We’ll have three days of guided walking, exploring a different side of the New Forest each day.
One day takes us through the woodland around Bolderwood, with time in Lyndhurst afterwards. We’ll also head to the coast for a walk around Keyhaven, the Lymington-Keyhaven Marshes and Hurst Spit.
Our final day follows the Beaulieu River between Beaulieu and Buckler’s Hard before we head home.

With a maximum of eight people, it’s a small, sociable group, with time to get to know each other over the walks and evening meals.
