Meet Cindy in front of Milton Hall (KRWG) for sketching in the central campus of New Mexico State University.
Milton Hall opened in 1948 and housed the dining hall, private dining room, the student lounges, a faculty lounge, the canteen, sun room, ball room, book store, co-op, cleaners, laundry, barber shop, beauty shop, manager’s quarters, and space for a bowling alley. There was an adjacent swimming pool, now filled and under Hardiman Hall to the west. From this centrally located building, there are a number of other interesting buildings (old and new) and a sculpture garden.
Turn south on Jordan (Campus Bookstore) from University Avenue, continue through the large parking lot into the smaller lot with meters. No permit is required: campus parking, including meters, is free on weekends.
There is shade and benches, but you may wish to bring your own stool. Dress for the weather. Zuhl Library opens at 10 and has restrooms and water.
