Las Cruces Outdoor/Urban Art Meetup Group

Note this is an evening sketch time
The Sierra Vista trail is a 29 mile national recreational trail for non-motorized vehicles. We will park in the parking lot off of. Soledad Canyon Rd. Dress for the weather. There is no water or toilet available. Bring your own camp chair and supplies. If you walk a quarter mile north there’s a nice rock formation, but otherwise you have great views of the Organ mountains. 

We will limit this to 12 people. If you are not able to come, please take yourself off the list so someone else could get on the list. They are nicely not charging us anything. After parking, walk to the pumpkin Junction on the west end of the parking lot to enter. We are being met by Amy Pollard at 9 o’clock. Please be on time. Bring your own supplies, water, camp chair, and there are restrooms available and snacks available for purchase. School groups will be allowed during the week also. 

The Street View World Tour is a monthly international “sketch together” event on Zoom. Everyone sketches from the same Google Earth or Google Street View images from all over the world selected by the hosts and guest artist around a theme. The event includes a 10-minute warm-up sketch, a 30-minute “sketch-along” demonstration provided by a guest artist, and two more 30-minute sketches. This is an informal event. You are sketching from home, you can use any media, you can share with the group OR not (the host usually picks a sketch or two to highlight). The group meets the first Thursday of every month at 11 a.m. MT. The event is free, but you must RSVP (link provided).
