International Urban Sketchers Week

International Urban Sketchers Week is a global celebration of on-location drawing and painting. From 1- 7 May every year, Urban Sketchers will be showcasing the activities of the sketching community and the many different ways that urban sketching brings people together & changes lives around the world. Is the Las Cruces Outdoor/Urban Art group an official chapter of UsK? No. But anyone anywhere can take part in International Urban Sketchers Week!

The theme for our group for this year's International Urban Sketchers Week is "Cinco de Mayo in the Chihuahuan Desert." In other words, sketch anything on-location anywhere in the borderland between May 1 and May 7. It's okay to sketch more than once! Most importantly, enjoy our vibrant community and have fun!

Upload photos/scans of your sketches to share with our group here on the Las Cruces Outdoor/Urban Art Meetup event page. If you use social media, post your sketches using the hashtags #lcouart and #uskweek2024 to share the stories and images of the Mesilla Valley with the international sketching community.
