The Las Vegas Runner "Cool Kids" are back!
Join us on Wednesday, September 17th at 4:30am at Paradise Point Park, for a BRAND NEW Las Vegas Runner's speed workout, Calvert Dr Hill Repeat Miles.
Calvert Drive from the bottom (Calvert and Mission) boasts a 200 foot ascent for exactly one mile at the end.
We will meet at the parking lot at Paradise Point Park (15 Archer Glen Ave) and do a 1.5 mile warm up to the start, repeat the climbs x4 or x5, (at Marathon Pace) with a recovery run back down each time.
Bring your own aide as we'll stash it at the end of Calvert Dr, and wearing reflecting tape or a light is recommended as there are some dark spots on Calvert Dr.
Schedule:
1.5 mile warm up starting at Paradise Pointe Park
4x5 times repeat Miles up Calvert Hill at Marathon Pace
Recovery run back downhill
These Wednesday series of speed work are perfect if you're looking to qualify for Boston, Chicago, or just looking to incorporate some speed work with a running group. However, we're still open to all and you can adjust the paces to fit your fitness level. These Wednesday workout series will be built around the upcoming Las Vegas Marathon on October 26.
Walk, jog, run or crawl, you're welcome to join us anytime. If you don't understand the workout or have never been, that's ok, come a few minutes early and we'll explain. Bring your GPS watch. You'll need it to measure the intervals.
If you need to cut the workout short or modify due to experience/ time constraints, etc, that's ok too. It's your run and we're a friendly group! Hope to see you Wednesday!
