About us
Welcome to the Las Cruces Out and About Meetup Group – a community for interesting activities, new connections, and making friendships in the Las Cruces region. Whether you're a local or new to the area, our group is open to anyone who's eager to explore, have fun, and meet like-minded individuals. Discover what Las Cruces has to offer.
We believe in creating a diverse and inclusive environment. We're not a dating group— individuals, groups, and couples are all welcome. Our goal is to provide a platform where everyone can come together, share common interests, and build connections.
If you are interested in organizing events, we seek volunteer hosts and organizers to contribute to the success of the group. If you enjoy bringing people together and making events happen, send a direct message to the organizer. Your idea could be the motivation for our next gathering!
No rules or requirements to join. Well behaved, mature adults welcome. Please provide a photo so we know who we're looking for when you attend an event

Celebration of John Prine
The Fountain Theatre, 2469 Calle de Guadalupe, Mesilla, NM, USIf you like your peaches mellow and your music with a whole lot of soul," then join us for a special afternoon celebrating the legendary musician John Prine.
Whether you’ve been a fan since illegal smile or just love great storytelling and good company, this is the perfect Sunday outing for the Las Cruces Out & About crew.
The Plan: We’re keeping it simple and local. We’ll start with a relaxed lunch to catch up, then stroll across the street to catch a star-studded tribute film featuring Randy Rae, Brandi Carlile, Tyler Childers, and more.
When & Where:
- 12:30 PM – Lunch: Meet at Peppers New Mexican Cafe (inside the historic Double Eagle). It’s light, affordable, and right on the block.
- 1:30 PM – The Stroll: We’ll walk together across the street to the Fountain Theater.
- 2:00 PM – Showtime: The tribute film begins.
ACTION NEEDED (The Rules of the Road):
- Tickets are on YOU: Seats at the Fountain Theater are first-come, first-served and very limited. You must book your own reservation online immediately via the theater's link: HERE
- RSVP for Lunch: When you click "Yes" here, please leave a comment or message me to confirm if you’re joining the lunch at Peppers. I am working on a group reservation and need an accurate head-count!
Why you should come: John Prine was the master of the "human condition." This film is a beautiful tribute filmed at the Nashville Auditorium. Come for the music, stay for the new friends, and let’s enjoy a classic Mesilla afternoon.
