The concepts behind agile planning are quite different than the concepts behind waterfall planning. (We exaggerate the purity of either set of concepts, but still there is always a notable divergence.)

So, it takes some learning, and many mistakes before we master the difference. Even experienced and effective people can benefit from re-learning some of these key concepts.
