What we’re about
We have kick-started a very exciting development at StartDock this year:
facilitating in-house Dutch courses for all international entrepreneurs.
Picture this: You are entering the lunchroom and you are still deciding whether to try the high-quality coffee everyone has been roaming about or to show your chef-skills throwing together an excellent lunch to sit with your vibrant colleagues. But one thing is for sure; you will step forward, give it your best shot and ask someone
'Hoe gaat het?', Dutch for 'How are you doing?'.
If this, and much more, is what you want but the adaptive Dutch people are making it hard on you because they switch automatically to English every time you draw near, then this course is for you.
Chani, native Dutch speaker, local yet international-minded, tutor and owner at Aleta Languages, has lived abroad and can relate to the struggles you as an international go through. We offer you this language course to get you started with the 'Launch your Dutch' package, boosting your confidence in conversational skills and sniffing up some fresh Dutch culture; giving you a taste of the Netherlands with carefully selected bites.
So, when at lunch, you will say 'lekker hoor' in a way that nobody will suspect that maybe they need to switch to English.

Our next beginnerscourse is ready to take off still in 2019.
In a group of three, you will enjoy the advantages of both: lots of attention like in a private class and interaction with people on the same level as you for fun, creating a synergy with rapid progress as a result.

The lessons will take place every Tuesday and/ or Wednesday at StartDock, Herengracht 420, Amsterdam. As a group, we will pick a time that suits us all.
