Slow Poke Hike To Mt Baden Powell Via Vincent Gap

Details
Next to Mount Baldy, Mount Baden–Powell (9,399') is probably the most popular mountain climb in the San Gabriels. This superb trail climbs directly up the northeast ridge to the summit in 41 switchbacks with panoramic views north over the Mojave Desert and southeast into the deep chasm of the East Fork of the San Gabriel River and the views from the summit are spectacular.

Although we will be taking a slow poke pace, this is an intermediate level hike due to the elevation gain and altitude and is not suitable for beginning hikers or couch potatoes. You must be in good physical shape for this hike. That said, this trek is an excellent way to bag a peak and experience outstanding summit top views of the San Gabriels including Mt Baldy, Iron Mt and Mt Wilson to name a few.
Note: This hike is also posted on the Adventurers Unlimited group.
