Wind Wolves Preserve (website link (http://www.wildlandsconservancy.org/preserve_windwolves.html)) is a beautiful wild area located west of Bakersfield about 2 hours north of Los Angeles. We will be hiking the Mountain View Trail loop in search of wildflowers and photographic opportunities. This will be a slow paced hike with lots of stops. We will have a picnic lunch somewhere along the trail. If the weather is good and we are enjoying the wildflowers we will stay in the preserve until about 4 PM. There are additional trails in the preserve for those that want more hiking mileage. The preserve closes at 5 PM.

After completing the day in the preserve we will find a restaurant at Grapevine or Gorman along the route back to Los Angeles for a group dinner.

Some of us may want to continue with sunset and night photography. Those wishing to do so will stop at Mount Pinos on the way back toward Los Angles for an evening 5 miles round trip hike to the summit and sunset photos. Sunset is at about 7:15 PM. Be sure to bring a headlamp or flashlight if you intend to join this sunset hike. If the sky is clear, we can then take night photos from the parking area after sunset and return to Los Angeles at about 10 PM.
