The de facto weekly meetup. We are a long-standing club which meet on Thursdays 7:00pm to closing at the Sunnyvale Whole Foods. We have been around in some form or shape for the past 20 years, and have a large number of regulars (typically 20-30 people a week).
Club meetings mostly consist of:
- a lot of casual play
- tiny bit of alcohol in the form of beer and wine (but all ages are welcome to come and play!)
Our club also has an abnormal amount of strong players, with more than 1/2-3/4 of our players being dan players, the rest being strong single-digit kyu.
However, we highly encourage newcomers to join, as they will be instructed by some of the strongest players in the country, many of which have participated in multiple national and international tournaments. Our group of newcomers has been consistently growing in the past year!
