What is Hack the Dot?!

A Hack the Dot is a free hackathon where anyone can participate. And this Hack the Dot is special. It's on 4/20's eve so we're going to be blazing. Blazing trails that is. Blazing inroads to the heart of the Denver tech scene with, Galvanize, and an unbelievable amount of free munchies.

A Hack the Dot is a two-hour event where coding school students, junior developers, experienced developers, marketers, designers and curious web people come together to build ideas around a domain name. Our events are meant to be a quick and fun way to build a humorous (and functional) product quickly while meeting people in your tech/startup community.

There will be pizza, beer and soda.

**Make sure to register on Eventbrite ( to ensure we order enough pizza.**

What to Bring / How to Prepare:

• Bring your laptop and your charger!

How does it work?

Step 1: Attendees are broken up into random teams.

Step 2: The teams are provided with the same undisclosed domain name by, arbitrary and often hilarious.

Step 3: Teams have just two hours to come up with an original, somewhat functioning site inspired by that domain. The team builds the most creative and fun idea for the domain wins.

Participants will be judged on four criteria: (1) functionality, (2) design, (3) humor, and (4) creative domain name interpretation.

What do you get at the event?

How much does it cost?
