The Power of Purpose

Details
The other day I was stopped at a red light and while waiting for it to turn green, I noticed the spare tire cover of the Jeep stopped ahead of me – it said “One life. Live it.” A simple but thought-provoking statement. The experience was the kind of thing where you wonder – was I meant to see this message today? Is there a reason I noticed this?
So, I had to ask myself, am I aware of how precious my one life is? Am I living it with intention and meaning? After a good deal of reflection, my answer is – yes, but I can do better. I can take a deeper inquiry into my life’s purpose.
Richard Leider, author of The Power of Purpose, describes purpose as "the engine of a meaningful life. It gives us direction, resilience, and a reason to get up in the morning.” Having a sense of purpose can help us feel happier, healthier, and more fulfilled.
Purpose in life is not fixed; it can change as we go through distinct phases and experiences. What was a source of purpose when we were busy with work and family may no longer provide the same sense of direction and meaning as we navigate this chapter.
How do you find your purpose? How do you pursue it with passion and joy? Let’s share our experiences and insight about how to discover and nurture our purpose and how it can benefit our well-being, happiness, and longevity.
