Come celebrate our community's anniversary with a big party and lightning talk contest -- prizes, free food, and learning new stuff together! Please invite your friends (esp. non-coders!) to help us celebrate three full years of building a more diverse and beginner-friendly tech community. :)

Learn Teach Code is now the largest learning-focused tech meetup in SoCal, with a diverse community of 7,300 members, over 50 regular volunteers and mentors, and another chapter in Seoul, South Korea!

Two-Minute Tech Talks Contest

22 speakers will talk for 2 minutes each on a wide variety of tech topics: everything from how they learned to code, to brain computer interfaces, the blockchain, machine learning, building video games, and more!

Why only two minutes?
• To encourage more people to give their first tech talk in a fun, no-pressure, judgement-free environment. (EVERYONE has something to teach; you don't need to be an expert to give a great talk!)

• To share a quick look at many different topics, so that everyone in the audience will learn something new.

Agenda & Highlights:

7:00pm:
• Free dinner: healthy and delicious build-your-own KBBQ bowls from Bibigo, with veggies, meats, and tofu.

• Sign up for our audience raffle to win two Raspberry Pi 3 B starter kits!

• Play our custom Devs Against Humanity card game! (Like Cards Against Humanity but for jokes about coding!) We'll have several decks, over 2,000 cards total!

8:00pm:
• Twenty two tech talks, 2 min. each, and prize giveaways

9:00pm
• Networking, optional coding time, and/or playing Devs Against Humanity!

10:00pm:
• Wrap up and take home any leftovers ;)

What to bring:

• Optional: your laptop, for social coding
• Your sense of humor for playing Devs Against Humanity!
• Your appetite
• Most importantly, your curiosity for learning, teaching, and coding!
