This September, we are teaming up with RevenueCat to host an official Shipaton IRL event at Lloyds Banking Group.

Part of the world's biggest mobile hackathon for people who actually ship, this evening is all about celebrating local builders and sharing what you have been creating. We will be joined by Matt Heaney from RevenueCat, and then a number of local app builders will present their Shipaton build projects.

1️⃣ How I Built a Social Confidence App in 60 Days by Nathan Lawlor

From app ideation to being live on the App Store: the experiments, challenges, and successes behind building, monetising, and marketing.

2️⃣ Snop – capturing AI prompts whilst running on Lakeland fells by Peter Koraca

A quick look at Snop, a local-first iPhone app for capturing prompts and ideas for AI agents on the go, then using them back on the Mac. Discover what works (and what is hard) when designing and shipping an AI-adjacent indie app during Shipaton.

Peter is a product designer, creative technologist, and strategic thinker with over 15 years of experience designing products and platforms for brands like Spotify, Meta, the NHS, and the BBC.

3️⃣ Building Voneo, the P2P video chat app by Stephen Ingham

I built a peer-to-peer video chat web app to learn how low-level networking and connection negotiation actually work.
This talk covers the good, the bad, and the lessons learned - from concept to deployment.

Stephen is a Full Stack Software Engineer and Freelancer building practical cloud-based AI solutions.
He loves experimenting with the latest tech and helping teach others along the way! Stephen also helps organise and run the Leeds Mobile meetup

4️⃣ Purr Trail - Rethinking the Use of Haptics by Asta Bevainyté

Purr Trail is a game project created for the RevenueCat Shipaton, exploring a new way to use haptics as part of gameplay rather than simple feedback.

The talk covers the game concept, design, haptic mechanics, and RevenueCat monetisation, along with the challenges of turning a simple idea into a working game within a limited timeframe.
With 9 levels plus a bonus game, Purr Trail offers a different way to play - one where players trust their fingertips and hear the visuals.

Asta is a Software Engineer with 20 years of IT experience and a Master’s Degree in Computer Modelling. She specialises in designing, building, and optimising native Android applications alongside robust full-stack web solutions. In her free time, she enjoys creating Android apps and experimenting with new ideas and technologies.

5️⃣ FitLogAi - your AI workout partner by Manu Kenchappa Junjanna

FitLog AI is a cross-platform fitness app built with Flutter for iOS and Android that uses AI to recognize and track your workouts as you train, reducing the need for manual logging. This talk covers the journey of FitLog AI, from version 1 to what it is today, the key challenges faced along the way, and what’s next for the product.

Manu is a Senior Flutter Developer with 6+ years of experience building mobile applications. He has a keen interest in AI, quantum computing, and Web3, and is the creator and maintainer of the edge_gen_ai and laya_dart Flutter packages.
