A Fabulous Challenging approx 11 Mile Walk from Wirksworth National Stone Centre
Key Highlights are:
- Great views over Cromford and Matlock
- Vising Richard Arkwrights Historical Territory
- Willersley Castle and Riber Castle - a secret to be told if you are there
- Lunch in Matlock Bandstand- coffee and toilets!
- Walking on the Limestone Trail
Park at the National Stone Centre Honesty Box Car Park on the right about 200 metres down the lane. NOT in the main Stone Centre Car Park.
Good walking boots/shoes essential and sticks may be handy for descent.
Waterproofs and good warm hiking gear. No jeans please
Bring a hearty picnic and plenty water/flask
We will enjoy a steady pace but there are some very steep ascents- well worth the view!
