A charming Hike through Alsemberg

A relaxed group walk on quiet paths perfect for walking (between 10 and 15 km) and chatting through the scenic village of Alsemberg, just a short distance from Brussels. Alsemberg is easily reached by bus from Brussels (de lijn R36, 30 min)Ligne R36 Groot-Bijgaarden - Brussel Zuid - Alsemberg - De Lijn
The Molenbeek Valley in Alsemberg is considered as the cradle of Belgium’s paper industry. A flourishing craft industry in the 16th century, it developed thanks to the many small streams in the area between the Sonian Forest and the Senne. These waterways were lined with numerous watermills, only a few of which remain today
