What we’re about
This group is for Minnesota lesbians, middle aged and older, who are age 50 and up. We've been active for 7 years with about two socials planned by volunteer members each month. Check out the past events tab to see the variety of our activities. All new attendees are warmly welcomed at their first social event. Please provide event leaders the courtesy of removing your RSVP online if you aren't able to attend something you signed up for. Membership includes a 3 week free trial period and is then $5.00 per year (the cost of our web page). If you do not go online to your profile page and pay dues after the trial period ends you will be dropped from membership. (Note: the meetup system does not send you a dues reminder.)
All activities have a minimum of 5 members in order to run. The RSVP totals will be checked the day before each event and a cancellation notice will be sent out if there are less than 5 signed up. Therefore, don't be shy about being the 1st or 2nd to RSVP. You won't be the only one there. Early signups build interest in the activity. If a limited event fills up, you may sign up on the waiting list. Check out the list of event planning teams below if you want to volunteer with a few others to host events.
Members are welcome to upload photos after attending an event as long as the privacy of other members is respected and faces are not showing.
For questions about new memberships, please click on the organizers message tab and message Betty, our admissions volunteer.

More detail:
The Bakken Ensemble features current and former members of the Minnesota Orchestra and St Paul Chamber Orchestra, and the audience is a queer friendly (and generally friendly) group. The MacPhail’s Antonello Hall is a beautiful, intimate space with all good seats where you can be close to the musicians and see and hear their interactions.Venue: The MacPhail Center for Music is near the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, at 501 S 2nd St, Minneapolis, MN 55401. This is a safe area. There is street metered parking, but there is a Guthrie play that day and a Vikings game at 12. There is reasonable parking a 5 min walk away at the Mill Quarter municipal parking ramp, 711 South 2nd Street. There is also parking across the street from the MacPhail Center for Music at the Depot, 136 S. 5th Ave. S. that is on the expensive side. Carpooling is encouraged.
Please be on time (3:45 pm).
Please change your RSVP online if you sign up and then for any reason cannot attend. All of our meetups have a minimum of 5 in order to run.
