About us

Hi everyone!

I’m Ney, a former Event Manager who’s been craving more lesbian friendship and community here in the East Bay. I realized that if I was looking for spaces like this, there were probably other lesbians looking for them too.

So I created Our Little Lesbian Club! — a social group for POC lesbians ages 25–35 to get out of the house, try new things, build genuine friendships, and find community in low-pressure environments that feel safe and welcoming.

This isn’t about networking or forcing awkward icebreakers. Come alone, come exactly as you are, and participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable. The goal is simply to create more opportunities for us to be around each other, do something fun, and let friendships form naturally.

What kind of activities can you look forward to?

Beach & Forest Cleanup Hikes

I do monthly beach and forest cleanup hikes where we can get outside, move our bodies, talk, and connect while also giving a little love back to Mother Earth. I’ll provide garbage bags and trash pickers; just bring your own gloves!

Arts, Crafts & Game Nights

Casual creative nights at Prescott Market in Oakland where we can paint, craft, play games, talk, laugh, and meet other lesbians without the pressure of a traditional social event. You absolutely do not need to be “artistic.” The point is to have something to do with our hands while we get to know each other.

Lake Merritt Pick-Me-Up Picnics

Bring your blanket, your snackies, and yourself. We’ll start with a one-hour conversation pit where we come together and talk about different topics surrounding lesbian life, friendship, identity, dating, community, and whatever else is on our minds.

Afterward, the structure is over. Hang out, eat, lay in the sun, keep talking, make a new friend, or head home whenever your social battery says it’s time.

More activities and little side quests will be added as the community grows.

At the end of the day, Our Little Lesbian Club is really just about getting us offline and into community with each other. Making friends as an adult is hard enough. Finding other lesbians of color you genuinely connect with can feel even harder.
