Introduction to Ethical Hacking/Real World Penetration Testing Training Course

Hey Hackers,

After the last LETHAL Meetup and seeing how a lot of our members are just starting in the security world, I wanted to offer a chance of a lifetime! I will be hosting a two day training course on Sept 10/11 (Sat/Sun). This will be a limited class size of 15 members to keep it small, hands on, and all about you! I’ve rented out a small warehouse that will be fully network connected and equipped for the class. All you’ll have to do is bring your laptop!

The training will be broken into two different courses/days.

Beginner Course - 101 Ethical Hacking (Sept 10th) - $150

Day 1: The first day will be the 101 Beginner Penetration Testing course. This will be for those members who haven’t really got their ground game down yet. We’ll be discussing penetration testing methodology, how to perform reconnaissance/intel gathering, all sorts of scanning techniques, exploiting different types of applications, and reporting. In this course you’ll take the information you’ve gathered from open source resources and attack a victim network. The start of the course will have you identifying weakness in a corporate network by using common scanning and vulnerability tools. The next step will focus on taking those findings and using different tools to compromise systems. These hands on exercises will teach how and to look for vulnerabilities on Windows and Linux. Finally, the course will wrap up by talking about what really matters in reporting all your findings to your clients.

Intermediate Course - 102 Ethical Hacking (Sept 11th) - $150

Day 2: Those that completed the 101 course or have a well versed background in penetration testing, will enjoy the 102 course. The days of exploiting MS08-067, encoding with Shikata Ga Nai, and blindly scanning are gone. Both Blackhat hackers and pentesters alike have shifted to using more advanced techniques to bypass AV, implement a smaller footprint to evade SIEM detection, and continually stay persistent to devastate enterprise networks. If you are looking to take your craft to the next level, this is the primer course for you.

I will take you through an immensely hands-on experience to replicate real world attacks without even running a single vulnerability scanner. In this hands-on experience, you will take on the role of a malicious Blackhat attacker and infiltrate your way into a corporate network. The onsite lab will emulate a real network using only modern operating systems.

Costs ($150/$150)

To keep up with the costs of renting out the warehouse and lunch, each day will be set at a flat $150. If you want to just come to the first 101 day, it’ll be $150 or if you want to come to both days, it’ll be $300. Each class will include:

-Lab Material
-Custom VMs
-Classes from 9am - 5pm
-Lunch

Students will be required to provide their own computer with the following specifications:

-Laptop with administrator access
-Laptop with wireless/network connection
-Laptop capable of running two virtual machines simultaneously using either VMware Workstation or Player or Fusion (for OS X)
-Laptop with 30GB of free disk space
