Visit to The Horse Trust (Speen)
Details
Having seen this recommended on Facebook, I thought that The Horse Trust would be worth a visit. The Horse Trust, running for over a century, homes retired service horses and ponies who need a safe place to call home when they are no longer able to work. The Horse Trust is the oldest equine charity in the world and receives no government funding - they rely purely on public donations.
The Horse Trust welcomes visitors.
All tickets must be pre-booked and paid for in advance via Eventbrite.
(1 ticket = 1 car) except for Gold sponsors and Season Pass holders.
Here is a link to book your ticket:
https://horsetrust.org.uk/visit-us/
Please note: if you plan on arriving by car, you will need to pre-book a ticket using the above link, which costs £8 per car. If you get a lift there with another member, only the person driving the car will need to book ahead, as the £8 admission is based per car rather than per person, and then the £8 can be split accordingly between the passengers. Donations to The Horse Trust on the day are always welcome, to support their hard work.
I thought we could spend an hour or so walking around The Horses Trust, meeting some of the horses there and learning about their back stories, and then either go to their Black Beauty Tea Room (onsite) for a hot drink and a cake, or drive 5 minutes up the road to The Black Lion pub in neighbouring Naphill for a drink.
