My name is Matthew Hurst, and I am a TQUK-certified TEFL English teacher, certified in 2022. I’m passionate about languages, cultures, education, and helping others become more confident communicating in English.

I am a native English speaker and also speak Spanish 🇪🇸, Portuguese 🇧🇷, and Italian 🇮🇹, so I understand firsthand both the challenges and the rewards of learning another language.

I created this group to bring together people in the Sarasota, Bradenton, and greater Tampa area who want to improve their English in a friendly, encouraging, and relaxed environment.

Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, advanced speaker, international resident, student, or simply someone who wants more English conversation practice, you are welcome here!

There is no charge to participate. My goal is simply to use my teaching experience and love of languages to help others, meet people from different cultures, and create a supportive local community.

This is an in-person local Meetup group, so membership is intended for people living in or regularly visiting the Sarasota, Bradenton, and Tampa Bay area of Florida.

All English levels and nationalities are welcome. 🌎
