About us

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to return to physics -not just to read about it or watch YT videos, but to actually work through the mathematics and solve the problems?

This is a study group for people who want to keep learning long after university. We’ll start with the foundations and gradually work our way towards the difficult but fascinating world of theoretical physics.

Our main focus will be quantum mechanics and general relativity, using actual university-level textbooks as our guides. The goal is not to collect interesting facts or discuss informative but at the same time, lighthearted YT videos - We want to build a proper understanding of the subject, one chapter, one equation, and one problem at a time.

What can you expect?

  • We’ll work through a master’s-level textbook, rather than jumping between popular science topics.
  • Mathematics and problem-solving are part of the experience. You should be comfortable with undergraduate mathematics and physics, or a closely related background.
  • We’ll start at a manageable pace, revisit foundations when needed, and gradually work towards more advanced material.
  • We’ll discuss concepts, work through derivations, and attempt problems together. Nobody is expected to know everything - but everyone should be willing to put in the work.
  • We’ll aim for a friendly, collaborative atmosphere where asking questions is encouraged and getting stuck is completely normal.

Who is this for?

Perhaps you wanted to study physics when you were younger, but life took you in a different direction. Perhaps you studied physics or mathematics at university and miss having something challenging to work on. Or maybe you’re currently a university student who wants to explore these subjects beyond your regular coursework.

If that sounds like you, you’re very welcome.

You don’t need to be a physicist, have a PhD, or remember every equation from your undergraduate degree. But you should have a genuine interest in learning, a willingness to engage with mathematics, and the patience to work through difficult material.

This is not a lecture series or a casual science discussion group. We’re here to study. We’ll start slow, support each other, and see how far we can go.

If you’ve ever thought, “I wish I could have studied more physics,” this might be a good place to start.
