Read “Not Too Late” with The Climate Action Book Club

Details

The climate emergency will not be solved by reading books. But by coming together to read, to educate ourselves, to share what we learn with friends and family, and to take action in our corner of the world we can be a small part of the wave of change humanity desperately needs.

Sound like something you want to be a part of? We’d love to have you. Join The Climate Action Book Club to read “Not Too Late,” a collection of writings from some of today's most brilliant and inspiring environmental justice leaders and thinkers (see a partial list below), edited by writer Rebecca Solonit (known for Men Explain Things to Me, among other books) and climate activist Thelma Young Lutunatabua.

Like any book club, we’ll discuss the book and our impressions, but through the prism of its study guide and its call for action. If you can afford it, I urge you to buy a copy to support these activists and this project. I recommend the bookshops La Central or Backstory, both of which should be able to order a copy. If buying a copy would be a hardship, many of the essays are available on its website: www.nottoolateclimate.com (which also has a lot of other great information).

And if you don’t have time to read all of the book, or any of it, you're welcome to come anyways to learn, to share, to get inspired and to take action with us.

Contributors to the book include Julian Aguon, Jade Begay, adrienne maree brown, Edward Carr, Renato Redantor Constantino, Joelle Gergis, Jacquelyn Gill, Mary Annaise Heglar, Mary Anne Hitt, Roshi Joan Halifax, Nikayla Jefferson, Antonia Juhasz, Kathy Jetnil Kijiner, Fenton Lutunatabua & Joseph Sikulu, Yotam Marom, Denali Nalamalapu, Leah Stokes, Farhana Sultana, and Gloria Walton.

We’ll meet in the new English bookstore Backstory, from which I encourage everyone to get a copy of the book.
