Do you care about climate change, but find it hard to discuss with your friends and family? Do you worry about not knowing enough about climate change to be able to start a conversation? Do your attempts at bringing up the climate crisis result in unproductive arguing, or - perhaps even worse - complete silence and a change of topic?

If you answered yes, this workshop is for you!

You are invited to join two experts who will help you gain skills and confidence in engaging others on climate change: Siri is a former climate communications professional, current climate communications enthusiast. She believes that acting on climate together can make a real difference to the planetary emergency, and also bring us closer as people (which in itself is pretty useful in a planetary emergency!). Inez is a climate coalition builder at ESAlogika and is certified in transcultural counselling. She has unwavering faith in grassroots action and the importance of being a bridge among differences. She believes that Friendship is one of most important (yet underrated) forms of climate activism.

During this workshop you will learn how to have good and productive climate conversations, using insights from social science and real-life experiences. You will also get to practice key skills and simple tips that you can put into action right away.

The workshop is hosted by Let’s Talk About Climate Change, a volunteer-run community based in Barcelona. The group started at the end of 2022 by two friends who longed to connect with others who also care deeply about the climate crisis. Since our first energising event connecting 8 strangers, the group has been running for over three years hosting over 70 events. We typically run monthly talk, book club discussions, as well as excursions, find out more about us:https://www.meetup.com/lets-talk-about-climate-change/events/

This is a special event co-hosted by Barcelona's first climate week therefore we also have another RSVP option via Luma if you prefer (https://luma.com/fmx69zpn), please make sure you sign up only once either on Meet=up or Luma to help us keep track of numbers of attendees!

For this workshop, if you are able to, we kindly request a small donation up to 5 euros to help cover the cost of venue rental and annual Meet-up subscription fee.
