What happens when the money we put in the bank helps finance the very industries driving climate change?

We often talk about reducing our carbon footprints, changing our consumption habits, and pushing governments to take stronger climate action. But there is another important piece of the puzzle that deserves more attention: the role of banks, financial institutions and corporations in financing the fossil fuel industry and perpetuating the climate crisis.

Following our gathering last December, where we came together to discuss COP30 and explore the realities of international climate negotiations, we're continuing the conversation. This month, we are honoured to have Adrien joining us again, and help us focus on the financial flows behind the climate crisis.

We'll explore how banks continue to finance fossil fuels, how corporate interests influence climate policy, and what citizens can do to demand greater corporate accountability and drive change.

### What will we discuss?

  • COP31 and the influence of fossil fuel interests
  • Fossil banks: Following the money
  • Citizen action: Choosing a responsible bank
  • Corporate accountability beyond banking

### Why join us?

Climate action is not only about what governments decide at international conferences. It is also about where money flows, how corporations operate, and the choices and collective pressure we can bring to bear as citizens.

Our everyday financial decisions may have more influence than we realise. Understanding the connections between our banks, corporate power and the climate crisis is an important step towards taking meaningful action.

Whether you're already familiar with fossil fuel financing and corporate accountability or simply curious about what your bank has to do with climate change, you're very welcome!

No specialist knowledge is required. We kindly request a donation up to 5 euros to support the running of Let's Talk About Climate Change, a voluntary initiative. See you there!
