What we’re about
Welcome to Let's Walk - my goal is to bring people together to make new friends in the beautiful New Zealand outdoors. I look forward to sharing my love of Tāmaki Makaurau and New Zealand's unique flora & fauna with you.
The walks will be a mixture of urban exploring of parks, coast and volcanoes of Auckland on a weekday and a longer walk each month in the forest parks and beaches surrounding Auckland.
Weekday walks will be 2 hours, covering 7km. Mostly on paths but with some rough uneven ground. The focus is on discovering new areas of Auckland and having a good chat to friends new & old. A good level of fitness is required.
Weekend walks will be longer and take 4-5 hours maximum.
I ask for a $2 donation from each attendee, this is to cover the cost of hosting this Meet Up page and to purchase safety equipment, such as my first aid kit, emergency bivvy bag and eventually 2-way radios and a PLB.
Bank account is: 12-3126-0720453-02
I restrict the numbers on my walks to 25 people for the following reasons:
Safety, impact on the neighborhoods and environment, better for socialising, easier to manage, it's more more pleasant for everyone.
If you can't make it, please remove yourself to free up a spot for someone else.
I encourage everyone to consider using public transport, car pooling or other non car forms of transport to get to the walk start location.
Please no smokers, dogs, children, guests or bluetooth speakers.
I put safety of the group as my top consideration, to help me do that I request that you come prepared for the walk, it is your responsibility to check the weather, wear appropriate clothing, including shoes, have water and food for the duration.
Arrive before the start time, in fairness to those that arrive before the walk start time, I will not wait for late comers.
I pre walk every walk to check for suitability, safety, parking & toilets.
Enough of the serious stuff, let's walk!

See all- Auckland Bonsai Society Annual Show 2025Kumeu Community Hall, Kumeu
Hi Friends,
The Auckland Bonsai Society (ABS) is hosting their Annual Bonsai Show at Kumeu Community Hall. Suitable for all ages, this is a wonderful introduction to the ancient art of bonsai.
This 2 day event will showcase the best of native and classic bonsai trees, some of the trees are decades old and are a sight to behold. Truly a testament to the time, care and patience that our ABS members of all levels of experience have invested in their beautiful trees.
There will be a display of "Suiseki" - "Viewing Stones" These are stones that have been found in nature and reflect: stability, longevity and immortality. And also a display of bonsai pots made by members of ABS.
Along with the bonsai trees, Suiseki and pots on display, there will be trade stalls selling pre-bonsai trees, locally made and imported ceramic pots, specialist tools and equipment to help you on your way to creating your own bonsai tree.
Auckland Bonsai Society club members will be on hand to answer any questions one may have about getting started with bonsai.
Open 9:30 to 16:30, Sat & Sun.$10 entry per person at the door. No need to RSVP - bring as many family and friends as you like!
If you or someone you know has bonsai trees and wants to further their knowledge in Bonsai, there are 2 days of demonstrations with local Bonsai artists available through Eventbrite:
