What we’re about
We are interested in riding to all corners of Arizona. Riders of all skill levels are welcomed to join! The idea is to uncover all of the hidden wonders of Arizona by motorcycle. We have some ideas for rides and are open to suggestions. There is no preference here for motorcycle brand, affiliation or other agendas. The intention of this group is to ride for the pure joy of riding.

- May the Fourth be With Us in Kanab!Quick Trip, Phoenix, AZ
This 4-day ride is one of the three premier rides of the year, the other two being Death Valley and The Devil's Highway (Coronado trail)!
We'll ride the back way through the Coconino National Forest, through Flagstaff, and on to Kanab, Utah. Kanab puts on a full day festival, which climaxes in a spectacular Fourth of July Fireworks display!
On day 2, we'll explore the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
On day 3, we'll ride through and around Zion National Park, as well as to the north of the park.
On day 4, we take mostly the same route back home.SCOOT MAPS:
HOTEL: ALL THREE NIGHTS!
Parry Lodge: it is cheap, we can walk to dinner, and we can walk to the park. Traffic and parking is heavily congested because of the festival, as you can imagine, so it is a great bonus not to have to ride to anything.
My total for 3 nights is $310, your experience may vary somewhat.
THINGS TO BRING:
- A portable chair so you can sit comfortably to watch the fireworks
- A light sweat shirt/jacket; the evening might get a bit chilly for us desert rats.
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
- We lose an hour when we cross the border into Utah. I have accounted for this in my timelines for Friday and Monday.
PARK PASS:
We will be riding through Zion National Park on day 3. If you do not have an "America the Beautiful Pass", then the park charges a $30 entrance fee for each motorcycle. If you do have a pass, then entrance is FREE!
If you are 62 or older then you can purchase a senior lifetime pass for $80. We visit a number of national parks throughout the year, so I recommend getting this pass because it will pay for itself after just a few visits.
You can order the pass online at USGS, but it takes two weeks for delivery, so you will have to order it SOON! I hear that you can purchase a pass in-person at the Bureau of Land Management in Phoenix.
CREDITS:
- Thank you to Bob Mitchell, who put together this ride last year! I borrowed much from his first and last day routes.
- Thank you to my dear sister in Christ, Sunshine! I borrowed much from her routes for days two and three.
- Thank you to Steve E, who greatly expanded our adventure on day two.
