Haegue Yang: Lost Lands and Sunken Fields at the Nasher Sculpture Center

Details

Join us for a fun exhibition at one of the most enjoyable art museums in the country. We will be viewing Haegue Yang: Lost Lands and Sunken Fields at the Nasher Sculpture Center in the Downtown Dallas Arts District. Admission will be free that day as part of their Free First Saturdays program.

Haege Yang is a Korean-born, Berlin-based artist that creates delightfully strange sculptures and installations out of every day materials. She uses common crafting practices like knitting and weaving in combination with pre-made devices like space heaters and luggage racks. The exhibition on view at the Nasher will be specifically designed to play with the light, high ceilings, and entryways of the space. Her works pull in ideas from a wide range of areas from scientific phenomena to sociopolitical movements. That might sound intimidating, but it means that there will be many different ways to connect with the work and the spaces she creates no matter who you are.

The Nasher is located near DART stations, has a cafe, and there are many nearby restaurants if we want to extend the event with coffee or a bite to eat afterward. Parking is located at the Dallas Museum of Art or in the Crow Collection Building.
