Marisol Escobar was highly celebrated world-wide for a decade with the popularity of the Pop Art movement, in the 1960s. She worked with and was friends with leading Pop artists, including Andy Warhol. She exhibited around the world with great acclaim. She is hailed as one of Venezuela's leading historical artists. She was awarded the Premio Nacional de Artes Plasticas by the Venezuelan government in 1984. This retrospective has traveled through 3 museums and is the largest of it's kind of her work.
