About us
What we are is a group of people who think a little too hard about things like identity, mental health, existence, culture, what it means to live a good life. Furthermore, we want to do that thinking out loud, together. If small talk drains you and deep conversation energizes you, you’re in the right place.
We skip the “so what do you do?” and get straight to the stuff that actually matters.
Our vibe is less classroom and more Tupac wrestling with mortality and justice, Alice in Chains sitting inside the darkest parts of the human mind, Kendrick Lamar unpacking generational trauma, or that one conversation you had at 2am that you’re still thinking about three weeks later. The artists and truth-tellers who didn’t just make you feel something — they made you think something. That’s the energy here.
If you’ve ever paused a podcast to argue with it, if you’ve ever felt like the real conversation started after the “official” one ended, if you ask why more than is probably socially acceptable, you’ll fit right in.
What to expect:
• A new topic each meetup, driven by what’s actually happening in our lives and the world
• No experts, no lectures, just curious people in a room
• Deep conversation is the whole point — come ready to engage, not just observe
• A space where disagreement is welcome, nobody has all the answers, and that’s completely okay
• Coffee meetups — because some of the best thinking happens over a cup, in the middle of the day, with nowhere else to be
• Dinners — where the table stays set long after the food is gone, and the conversation is the main course
• Group adventures — because sometimes the best discussions happen when you’re moving, exploring, or doing something that gets you out of your head so you can get back into it
Hampton Roads has a lot going on beneath the surface. This is a space to dig into it — over coffee, around a table, or somewhere you’ve never been before.
