Coffee and Unpack: Careful What You Wish For

We’ve all got a wish story lodged somewhere in the back of our brain the genie in the lamp, Bruce Almighty running the universe for a week, or that one campfire tale about a shriveled monkey’s paw that grants three wishes and always, always collects on the fine print.

What we’ll actually talk about, over coffee:

• If you got three wishes right now, what would you ask for, and what’s the catch you’re not seeing?

• Why does every wish story end in regret? Good storytelling, or is it telling us something true about wanting things?

• Genie lamp vs. Bruce Almighty vs. the monkey’s paw, which wish system would you actually want to live under?

This is a very light discussion compared to the others so let’s enjoy a coffee and talk about wishes.
