We've all been told to "just let it go." Most of us have also figured out it's not that simple.

This is a guided group conversation about what letting go actually means, and what it doesn't. Letting go isn't giving up, numbing out, or pretending you don't care. It's about figuring out what's really in your hands, what you've been clenching around anyway, and what it might look like to loosen your grip a little.

To get us talking, we'll borrow ideas from two books. Mark Manson's "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck" is blunt and practical, and it's about choosing what's worth caring about. Michael Singer's "The Untethered Soul" is quieter and more inward, and it's about noticing the voice in your head and not gripping every thought and feeling. You don't need to have read either one. We'll go over the main ideas together, and you're welcome to disagree with both.

Some of what we'll dig into:

  • Something you spent way too much energy on
  • The difference between letting go and giving up
  • What you care about because you chose it, versus because you're supposed to
  • What it feels like when you can't stop replaying something
