On the water at Marsh Creek State Park!

By popular demand, our next adventure will be a kayaking/canoeing/stand-up paddle event at Marsh Creek State Park! Located near Downingtown PA, Marsh Creek is a 1700-acre park that offers boating rentals for use on Marsh Creek Lake. Let’s meet on the patio outside of the snack bar around 9:30AM, and from there those who need to rent their kayaks can do so. We’ll launch our kayaks as a group from the boat launch point around 10 or whenever everyone is ready.

Rental prices (see more at Boat Rental – Marsh Creek)
Kayak rental price: $35/hour (single kayak) or $40/hour (double kayak)
Canoe rental price: $50/hour
Stand-up paddle rental price: $35/hour

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION (PLEASE READ BEFORE ATTENDING):
-The parking lot at Marsh Creek fills up very quickly on summer weekends. I would advise arriving as close to our 9:30AM start time as possible to ensure that you get a spot.
-You are welcome to use your own kayak/canoe/stand-up paddleboard, but please be advised that you must display a valid boat registration or launch permit or risk a fine from the park. Launch permits can be ordered online via the Pennsylvania Boat and Fishing Commission at https://www.pa.gov/services/fishandboat/buy-launch-permit.html (and you will receive it in the mail within a few weeks).
-YOU MUST WEAR A LIFE VEST WHILE ON THE WATER! If you rent your boat from Marsh Creek, a life vest will be provided to you by the rental office. If you bring your own boat, please bring a life vest. You enter the water at your own risk without one and may be subject to a fine in this case as well.

**Please also note that this will be a weather dependent event. In case of rain or extreme heat, we may switch to a hike at Marsh Creek State Park instead of a lake activity. Check back on this event page in the days leading up to the event with updates from Anna.**

Please make sure to bring water and to wear clothes that you don't mind getting wet. We will most likely spend an hour or so on the water, though feel free to stay out longer if you wish. Those of us whose arms get tired quickly may need to end our fun after a shorter amount of time 😉
