- Portraits to Dream In / Pay What You Want PhotographyNational Portrait Gallery , London
*Please book your ticket before RSVP*
Photographers Francesca Woodman and Julia Margaret Cameron are two of the most influential women in the history of photography. They lived a century apart but explored portraiture beyond its ability to record appearance – using their own creativity and imagination to suggest notions of beauty, symbolism, transformation and storytelling.
Showcasing more than 160 rare vintage prints, the exhibition spans the career of both artists – and suggests new ways to look at their work, and the way photographic portraiture was created in the 19th and 20th centuries.

- 500 Years of Black British Music / ExhibitionThe British Library, London
*TICKETED event, book early before you RSVP*
For centuries, Black communities have created music in the UK, melding global influences into a Black British sound that has echoed through generations.
Beyond the Bassline at the British Library, the first major exhibition of its kind anywhere in the world, is about more than music. It’s about the places where these sounds were born: the clubs, the carnivals, the stages, the kerbside auditoriums. It is the voice of community, resistance, culture and joy. It is a celebration of the trailblazers and innovators that brought new music to the UK, and the layered Black experiences that have birthed a thriving musical culture and history.

- Too Much Pills And Liquor - A New Comedy @ The DivineThe Divine, London
*TICKETED event, book early before you RSVP*
Too Much Pills And Liquor is a new queer play inspired by the musical Cabaret, set in modern London with original songs. After years of trying to make connections in London, Sam has found a shortcut: work for a celebrity. Having landed the job as pop star Riley Sibanda’s Substack editor, his old queer life of charity work and self-loathing is having to make way for a new life of k-holes and… a little bit less self-loathing. But with the queer community under greater threat than ever and fascism on the rise, can Sam keep justifying darkrooms as a type of activism?
Too Much Pills And Liquor is a look at white gay men’s relationship to the world beyond them, and what happens when self-care gets in the way of the real work. It’s being staged in the basement of the new queer venue The Divine, the sequel to the legendary venue The Glory.
The show starts at 8pm, but feel free to come to The Divine earlier in the evening to meet others. The meet-up is being run by David, who’ll be there to say hello and make sure everyone gets in alright.
Tickets
You’ll need a ticket to see the show - until the end of May, tickets are available at an Early Bird price of £12. Throughout June tickets are £15 - seating isn’t reserved, so you can sit with each other regardless of when you buy your ticket. There’s also a £20 ticket option that guarantees you one of the best seats, and also helps to support the company.
Tickets can be booked here:- https://www.outsavvy.com/event/20027/too-much-pills-and-liquor
