What we’re about
We are here to connect all members of the LGBT+ community to social events happening in and around Melbourne.
We aim to work with a variety of hosts and social groups to enhance your opportunities to meet new people, and will also be hosting our own!
Our vision is to promote health within our community by facilitating connection and reducing loneliness.

School of Life Discussion Cards
The Library at the Dock, 107 Victoria Harbour Promenade, Docklands Vic 3008, Melbourne, AULet's use The School of Life's discussion cards to explore our own and others' thoughts and feelings in small groups.
If you're not familiar with The School of Life, they're a remarkable global organisation devoted to fostering calm, self-understanding, better relationships, deeper friendships, effectiveness at work and fulfilment in your leisure time. Their YouTube channel gives a good introduction to their work.
Event Tickets: https://events.humanitix.com/lgbt-social-school-of-life-discussion-cards
I'll have a dozen or so questions for you on a broad range of topics. For example:
- If you couldn’t fail, what would you do?
- You are the absolute dictator of the world: what four things would you do?
- What would you warn someone you loved about being with you?
Sometimes a receptive, non-judgemental audience can help unveil fresh ideas. It's also fascinating to observe your own perspective change or broaden as you reflect on others' worldviews.
I'll try to craft an event that caters to neurodiverse attendees' needs; e.g.
- a quiet, respectful environment
- groups of four to six
- a "talking circle" method where one person has the floor uninterrupted for up to a few minutes.
As your host, I'm simply a devoted facilitator, hoping to foster meaningful connections through soulful discussion.
Practicalities:
- Tickets for this event can be purchased on Humanitix for $3 via this link [https://events.humanitix.com/lgbt-social-school-of-life-discussion-cards]; this covers the cost of library hire and helps keep the Meetup group running.
- The library's open from midday to 4pm on Sundays, and well worth exploring.
- You can use their toilets during those hours.
- We're in Meeting Room 1, with views to the bay.
- We'll start soon after 2pm, so please arrive by 2pm so that we can settle into the process.
- No problem if your plans change. However, please change your RSVP so that someone else can take your place.
- I'll provide name tags.
- Feel free to bring drinks and snacks.
See you soon for a heartfelt chinwag.
