LI-DOG Pack Walk™ at Old Westbury Gardens Fall Dog Festival!
Old Westbury Gardens, 71 Old Westbury Road, Old Westbury, NY, Old Wesbury, NY, USAs the leaves turn colors and the air grows crisp, LI-DOG invites you and your furry companions to join us at Old Westbury Gardens during Fall Dog Days happening Saturday and Sunday, October 25th and 26th. This special weekend transforms the historic 200-acre estate into a dog-friendly haven, welcoming leashed pups to explore its scenic grounds, excluding the Walled Garden—with their humans in tow.
A highlight of the weekend takes place on Sunday, Oct. 26th when LI-DOG leads one of its popular LI-DOG Pack Walks™ on the grounds of the estate. This group on-leash walk offers a relaxed, 45-minute stroll through woodland trails, lakeside paths, and sweeping lawns. The terrain is mostly flat, with options to shorten the route for those who prefer a lighter walk.
Participants should arrive at the LI-DOG table by 10:30 AM to sign in. Registration is free, and guests can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a prize basket—proceeds support LI-DOG’s mission to open more parks and beaches to dogs.
In addition to the walk, Sunday features a festive costume contest and parade starting at 3 PM. Dress your pup in their Halloween best and register at the map stand by 2 PM to join the fun. Prizes will be awarded for standout costumes, so creativity is encouraged!
Throughout the day, dog-friendly vendors, rescue groups, and animal advocacy organizations—including LI-DOG—will host booths as part of OWG's Fall Dog Festival. It’s a great opportunity to connect with local pet resources and support community efforts.
Important Reminders:
- Dogs must be leashed at all times (please, no retractable leashes).
- Dogs are not permitted in buildings, on flower beds, nor in the walled garden.
