LI-DOG Pack Walk™ at Fire Island National Seashore!
Fire Island Lighthouse, Field 5, Fire Island, NY, US🐾 Join Us for a LI-DOG Pack Walk™ at Fire Island on Saturday, September 19th!
Grab your leash, non-retractable please, and your pup, and come stroll with us along the scenic Fire Island National Seashore! Our LI-DOG Pack Walks™ are fun, on-leash group outings where dogs and their humans can enjoy fresh air, great company, and some of Long Island’s prettiest views!
We’ll gather at the far eastern end of Parking Field 5 at Robert Moses State Park—look for the lighthouse in the distance! (Just a heads-up: pups aren’t allowed on the beach at Robert Moses, but we’ve got a great workaround.)
We’ll start by heading north and east along the grassy shoulder of the parkway, then follow a dirt road that runs just south of the lighthouse. You’ll get some postcard-worthy views of the lighthouse as we go!
From there, we’ll cross a pre-made path over the dunes to reach the ocean beach. You can choose a shorter walk (about 1.5 miles, 45 minutes) or go a bit further east toward Kismet for a longer stroll (closer to 2.5 miles). Either way, you’ll be soaking up sun, and sea breezes, with your happy pup while enjoying wide open views of sea, sand and sky.
Please be aware that dogs must remain leashed AT ALL TIMES on the Pack Walk. Make sure to bring poop bags--as clean-up is a must--and water for you and your dog. Also, please no retractable leashes as we’ll be walking as a group and people and dogs can get tangled.
Please arrive 15 minutes early so you can sign in and we can start on time.
