LI-DOG Pack Walk™ at Massapequa Preserve!

Join the Long Island Dog Owners Group (LI-DOG) for an exciting LI-DOG Pack Walk™ at the Massapequa Preserve at 10:30am on Sat., August 23rd!

Bring your active dogs for a fun-filled day of walking in the woods and then refreshing themselves in the pond before we head back. Don't miss out on this tail-wagging opportunity to create memorable moments with your four-legged companions.

Enter the preserve at the Walker Street entrance. Meet us on the grass just before the paved bridge at the north end of the Mansfield Park parking lot! Watch out for bikes on the bridge and please avoid standing on the bike path!

We’ll be walking the Fire Road Trail, a flat, wide, mostly shaded, dirt trail within Massapequa Preserve. We'll walk about a mile down the trail, then turn onto a smaller trail that ends at a clearing with a creek and shallow pond. We’ll stop there for water and let the dogs wade and swim.

Once the dogs have played and cooled off, we’ll head back up the trail to where we started. The entire walk will cover approximately 2 miles and take about 2 hours, including their "playtime".

PLEASE NOTE: While there may be off-leash dogs on the trail, dogs attending the pack walk must be kept on-leash on the trail. Please be aware that some people may take their dogs off-leash when they are playing in the water!

Please NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES as we are walking in a group, the dogs and their humans can get tangled.

Please don’t forget to bring poop bags, as pick up is a must, and while the trail is shaded by trees, don’t forget to bring water for you and your pup.
