LI-DOG Pack Walk™ at Hempstead Lake State Park!

LI‑DOG is excited to host our August LI‑DOG Pack Walk™ at beautiful Hempstead Lake State Park, a 737‑acre gem located in West Hempstead and home to Nassau County’s largest freshwater lake. This is one of three state parks within the Town of Hempstead—and a perfect setting for a summer walk with your pup.

🐾 About the Walk
Join us on Saturday, August 15th at 10:30 AM as we stroll along the North Loop Trail, a recently restored, flat, easy path ideal for dogs and humans alike.
We expect the full Pack Walk™ to cover about 2 miles and take approximately one hour. For anyone who prefers a shorter route, our Pack Leaders will happily point out an alternate option.

📍 Meeting Location
Take Southern State Parkway, Exit 18. At the top of the ramp, turn right onto Eagle Avenue and follow the road back over the parkway until you reach Parking Lot #1 on the right. Park in that lot near the Environmental Education Center. We’ll walk up to the Northern Ponds trail from there. If you get to the park early enough, there may be parking in the small lot directly opposite the Exit 18 ramp. That lot is at the Northern Ponds trailhead.

🚗Please note: As this is a NYS park, there is an $8 per car parking fee at this time of year, unless you have an Empire Pass.

🌳 Pack Walk™ Guidelines
To keep the walk safe and enjoyable for everyone:

• Dogs must remain leashed at all times.
• No retractable leashes, as they can cause tangles in a group.
• Please bring water for your dog and poop bags—clean‑up is required.

⏰ Arrival
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to sign in (the walk is free!) so we can begin the walk on time.
