We are a developing community that believes that knowledge and skills are best learned and developed by pairing, collaboration, and having fun.
Although this started as a hack night, it has also started to become a craft night as well. So you will find some people hacking away on computers together while others might be working away on sewing machines or with scissors.
We welcome newbies! If you don't know something and would love to learn, this is the right place! Sure are some of the great things that have happened during this event:
• We've talked about our various struggles and successes perspectives as women and as people of color in technology
• Several people who are applying to tech accelerator programs have come for assistance in getting entry
• Several people write and debug their first programs
• We've helped people work past problems they've been having on their business and volunteer projects.
• We have had extensive co-learning and co-teaching with everyone learning and teaching in all sorts of things including processing, javascript, computing history, and some exciting new tech coming up.
Come and hack with us, or ask questions about programming, or hang out. In addition to being masters of technology, they are also very nice people. Please bring a laptop if you can, or you can share with someone there.
Folks often order food together, but feel free to bring stuff (or not), too!
