About us
Life After Harmful Religion is an online community for women navigating the emotional aftermath of harmful religion and purity culture.
Many women leave religion, but still struggle with:
• chronic guilt and shame
• second-guessing themselves
• loneliness and loss of community
• difficulty trusting their own thoughts, needs, feelings, and desires
• purity culture conditioning
• fear, self-monitoring, and people pleasing
• figuring out who they are outside of the roles and rules they were taught
This group exists to create supportive, honest, emotionally safe spaces for women rebuilding life after harmful religious experiences.
Inside this community, we explore things like:
✨ self-trust
✨ identity after religion
✨ healing shame and conditioning
✨ boundaries and emotional safety
✨ loneliness and belonging
✨ reconnecting with yourself after years of self-suppression
The events hosted through this group include guided conversation, reflection, emotional support, some Mind Shifting work around shame and conditioning, and intentional connection with women who truly understand these experiences.
This is not a debate space, preaching space, or performative self-help space.
You do not need to have everything figured out.
You do not need to explain or justify your experience.
You do not need to perform healing.
This is simply a grounded, supportive community for women learning how to rebuild trust in themselves and create life beyond harmful religion - together.
