About us
Welcome to Make Lisbon Home!
We are a community group for expats and anyone else looking to make Lisbon their home. Our goal is to provide a space for community and belonging as people from all walks of life try to settle down somewhere new. We host a variety of different events aimed at building community and language exchange / learning Portuguese. Whether you are an expat looking to settle down, digital nomad looking for friends & connections or really anyone who wants to connect with likeminded individuals, this group is for you.
Events
We host (and plan on hosting) a wide variety of different events within the coming months and into 2027. Every event we host will be 100% free, we want people to connect as easily as possible. Here are some of the events we have planned:

More events are planned, as soon as we have some time to put it all together.
SLA Portuguese School
Every event is free, and we want to keep it that way. As a way to finance that, we have a language school aiming to teach Portuguese as a Second Language to expats here in Lisbon, given that speaking the language is an important way to integrate into life here. We run different lessons and courses to those interested:
- SLA European Portuguese Course (A1 & A2): Full language courses for people who want to learn the language from scratch.
- Speaking & Confidence Training (A2+ & B1+): Speaking courses for those who have taken lessons before and know the basics, but struggle to speak in real life settings
