It exists to bring together photographers of all levels of experience, to create spaces for socialization and to enable exchanges of information, questions and ideas.
Community Rules
- The first rule of the community is: be nice and kind, always. Bring positive vibes.
- Please be a good human being: show respect when photographing people. In addition to being aware of the laws, photographers should keep in mind such concerns as the privacy and dignity of people they photograph, the power dynamics that are at play, their cultural and personal biases as well as cultural sensitivity. A very basic guideline could be to put yourself in your subject's shoes — how would you feel if the roles were reversed? How would you fee if you were being photographed in such situation and circumstances?
- Keep your RSVPs updated. If you sign up and don’t show up at an activity, you might get banned from the group.
- No advertising, selling, marketing, or any commercial activity.
- No trolling, no harassment, no unsolicited messages to persons you haven’t met, no hate speech.

Location not specified yetThe 15th edition of Open House Lisboa is taking place over the weekend of 9-10 May: this is your opportunity to enter buildings that are usually not accessible to the public.
In this walk, we'll focus on Almada, starting with the Antigos Estaleiros da Lisnave (the old shipyard of Lisnave).
We'll visit a couple of other buildings before heading for a drink and a bite. Plans will be fined-tuned closer to the date once opening hours have been confirmed by the organisers of Open House Lisboa.
Wear good walking shoes and carry a big bottle of water.

For the bravest of the braves, the challenge for this walk is to make a mini-zine with a selection of 8 of your best pictures from the walk.[[ A mini-zine is printed on an A4 page that gets folded to open like a small 8-page magazine — it's a playful trick to practice editing and sequencing your images. ]]
See https://dirtylittlezine.com/ for a free, easy and excellent online tool to make your zine.

LxPC 16 May — the one about the 'Soft Brutalism' of 1980's Geometry
Parque Bensaúde, R. Maestro Jaime Silva (Filho), 1500-402 Lisboa, Portugal, Lisboa, PTMalta, we're heading to the North of Lisbon, in Telheiras where João will take us, well, on his daily commute basically (the plan is not to go to any office, though). More directly relevant for the walk is the fact that we'll explore the lines, geometry and colour palettes that altogether give this neighbourhood intense vibes of 'soft brutalism'.
This is urban planning and construction from the 1980's: expect large surfaces of muted colours punctuated by sharp geometric details. This is a 2.5-hour walk that will end with a pic-nic in the park.
It is recommended to wear good walking shoes and carry a bottle of water (preferrably full).**************
